At the beginning of my placement, I acted as a math support person for my associate teacher, helping students one-on-one with problems and
challenges that they faced. I eventually created and taught an unit on patterning and algebra. I learned so much through this experience. And of note, the slides below are the last ones that I created for my math unit. Rather, I opted to work from the classroom white and chalk boards, encouraging students to solve problems and answer each others questions.
The unit culminated with a patterning and algebra quiz. I devlopped two different versions - a standard one, and one with accomodations - to ensure that all students were supported and that they all had the opportunity to show their best work.
